Privacy Policy

Khedmati website and mobile application · Last updated 15 September 2026

1. About this policy

Khedmati (“Khedmati”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a home-services marketplace in the Sultanate of Oman. This policy explains how the Khedmati website and mobile application access, collect, use, share, protect, retain, and delete personal information.

2. Information we collect

  • Account and contact information: name, mobile number, optional email address, account role, language preferences, and authentication credentials. Passwords are stored as secure hashes rather than readable text.
  • Profile information: profile photo, region, biography, service categories, service radius, availability, verification status, and provider portfolio photos when supplied.
  • Location information: precise coordinates and address details selected for a service request, a saved service location, and a provider’s location and live journey updates while fulfilling an active service.
  • Service content: requested category, preferred time, problem description and photo, quotations, order status, messages between customers and providers, and ratings or comments.
  • Transaction information: agreed price, payment method and status, refunds, commissions, settlement records, and payment-session references. Khedmati does not receive or store full payment-card details entered on a payment provider’s hosted checkout.
  • Support and technical information: feedback or issue reports, app version, platform, notification preferences, authentication tokens, and standard server security logs such as IP address, request time, and error information.

3. How we use information

We use this information to create and secure accounts; provide, match, schedule, and track service requests; help customers and providers communicate; display relevant nearby work; process and reconcile payments; send service notifications; translate user-requested content; provide support; prevent fraud and misuse; meet legal obligations; and maintain and improve Khedmati.

4. Location, camera, and photos

Location is used when you choose a service address, look for nearby requests, or share a provider journey during an active service. Khedmati does not use location for advertising. Camera or photo-library access is used only when you choose to attach a problem or profile image. Permission is requested through your device where required.

5. When information is shared

  • Customers and service providers: information necessary to quote, coordinate, fulfil, pay for, and review a service may be shown to the relevant parties. Nearby eligible providers may receive the request details needed to decide whether to accept it.
  • Payment processors: transaction details needed for online checkout are sent to Thawani or another payment method you select.
  • Translation provider: text you ask to translate may be sent to Google Cloud Translation and translations may be cached by Khedmati.
  • Mapping and infrastructure providers: map tiles, routing requests, hosting, storage, security, and other technical services may process the limited information required to provide those functions.
  • Legal and safety reasons: information may be disclosed when required by applicable law, a valid official request, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, Khedmati, or the public.

We do not sell personal or sensitive user data and do not use it for targeted advertising.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information handled, including authenticated access, access controls, password hashing, encrypted transport in production, and restricted administrative access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention and deletion

We retain account and service information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Transaction, dispute, fraud-prevention, security, backup, or legal records may be retained for the period required by applicable law or a legitimate operational need, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

You can permanently delete your account and associated data in the Khedmati app under Settings → Delete account or through our web account-deletion page. You may also delete an unaccepted service request from its request screen. Some information may be retained only where legally required, as described above.

8. Your choices

You can review and update profile details, change language and notification preferences, choose whether to provide optional photos, deny device permissions, and request account deletion. Some core features cannot work without the information necessary to provide them.

9. Children

Khedmati is a general home-services marketplace and is not directed to children. Children must not create an account or submit personal information through the service.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Khedmati’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The latest version and its effective date will remain available on this page.

11. Privacy enquiries

Khedmati is the developer and operator responsible for the handling described in this policy. To ask a privacy question or exercise a privacy right, open Settings → Send feedback in the Khedmati app and describe your request. Do not include passwords or payment-card details.

To delete your account, use Settings → Delete account in the app or the web deletion form. This permanently deletes the account rather than merely disabling it.
